Hereby we send you the application for a new town. A couple of Dutch people from different towns would like to start a new town. In this application you will find all the information about the new town.

We hope you’ll read all the information and get such a positive feeling about our town that you will allow us to found a new one. We would like to start the town on the 2^nd day of September (2-9-2004).

We started the project under the codename Madurodam. But not everybody liked this name. Some people would like to give our town a name which would attract to both people from Belgium and the Netherlands. So after some name dropping we organized a voting in our forum.

And the winner is: de Lage Landen

We would like to build our town at position 193,185 on the BrettSpielWelt map.

With the founding of this town we would like to enrich BSW with a home for the Dutch speaking community. A place where new Dutch speaking users can find experienced users who can help them in their own language.

Furthermore we would like to give a new impulse to the translation of BSW into Dutch. Also we would like to make Dutch game patches and improve the option
/language nl.

Last but not least we just want to be a nice and joyful town to its citizens.

As we have 5 players higher than W15. The games they will place in their homes will be: Tichu (@win), San Juan (pinkeltje), Siedler (Betelgeuse), Schrille Stille (Superboer), Funkenschlag (Morrighain)

People who would like to join our town must at least be known to some town members. A player, who wants to join the town, can apply for that in the forum. When at least 6 town members approve the application, town membership will be awarded. When 2 town members reject the application, town membership will not be awarded.

Town members are expected to participate in the development of the town. One of the ways to participate is to play at least 30 Multi-User games (10 Single-User games = 1 Multi-User game) every month on average. This criterion will be regularly checked over a period of the previous 6 months.

Inactive users who didn’t inform management about their absence will receive an email after 2 months of inactivity. If they don’t reply within 1 week with legitimate reasons they will be removed as citizen. Removed players are free to join again after the 1 month ban.

Other ways of contributing to the development are e.g. to participate actively in the meta-game of BrettspielWelt.

We let our Chief of Security decide about who needs placement on our blacklist. Town members can mail the Chief about problems with other players and the Chief of Security will decide if they will receive a ban.

If 2 town members will get into a fight with each other the management will take measures. If a member of the management is involved he/she will be replaced by a town member.
